Voice4Change at The House of Nations presented ‘Return To Mexico City – An Audience with Dr Tommie Smith
On Saturday 11th August, Voice4Change England presented a Return to Mexico City, featuring a first time screening in London of Return to Mexico City and Tommie Smith in a live Q&A session. Return to Mexico City is an award winning documentary narrated by Kieffer Sutherland about the lives of Olympic athletes Dr Tommie Smith and John Wesley Carlos, who shot to fame during the 1968 Olympics when they protested what has been dubbed a ‘Black Power’ protest salute upon collection of their medals for the 200 meter dash finals.

NAVCA and Voice4Change England alarmed by Government equalities ‘backwards step’
Voice4Change England and NAVCA have responded with alarm to last week’s equalities announcement by the Home Office, calling it a backwards step. Last week’s Home Office statement, on the outcome of the Equalities Red Tape Challenge and Reform of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), confirmed the Government will repeal the Socio-economic Duty and delay the implementation of the Dual Discrimination Duty.
Voice4Change England is looking to strengthen its staff team and we are looking for an exceptional person with the right skills with immediate availability to join our small team and take the lead in enhancing our external profile with members and key stakeholders by maximising opportunities using new media. The post is funded by the funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund and the project aims to strengthen the voice of the BME Third Sector.

Salary: Up to £25,194 (ILW) pro rata
