On Saturday 11th August, Voice4Change England presented a Return to Mexico City, featuring a first time screening in London of Return to Mexico City and Tommie Smith in a live Q&A session. Return to Mexico City is an award winning documentary narrated by Kieffer Sutherland about the lives of Olympic athletes Dr Tommie Smith and John Wesley Carlos, who shot to fame during the 1968 Olympics when they protested what has been dubbed a ‘Black Power’ protest salute upon collection of their medals for the 200 meter dash finals.

Thousands of people with a varying degree of hearing loss from Black, Minority and Ethnic (BME) backgrounds across Leicester and Leicestershire are missing out on support services, according to a leading D/deaf charity.
Charities that are based outside London and meet the eligibility criteria could receive a bursary to attend a CES training course at Charities Evaluation Services (CES) training venue in London.
CES have recently been awarded a grant from The Lankelly Chase Foundation to offer a bursary scheme for non-London organisations to attend CES training. The bursary can be used to attend either a one-day or two-day course.
Kunle Olulode, Director, Voice4Change England: “With limited emergency funding available, it’s important that charity groups and communities are kept fully informed of the support that is available during this really difficult time for civil society. Good outreach communication is going to be critical to reach all. We will do our best, with other infrastructure bodies to ensure the message gets out.”
On Tuesday 5 April BME policy voice, Voice4Change England coordinated a visit by the Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd MP to member organisation, the Asian People’s Disability Alliance (APDA).
