As an organisation which continues to fight for fairness and equality on behalf of Gypsies and Travellers we know first hand how important it is to work collaboratively with other organisations.
A main concern for Gypsies and Travellers is the shortage of appropriate accommodation, and to put some context to this, we don't know exactly how many Gypsies and Travellers there are in the UK because before 2011 they were not included in census statistics. However, it is estimated that there are between 200,000 and 300,000 Gypsies and Travellers in the UK (excluding newly arrived Roma from other parts of Europe).

Members of the BME VCS Coalition including V4CE have written a letter to the Guardian, calling on the Government to draw up a race equality strategy that provides leadership in the wake of rioting.
On Saturday 11th August, Voice4Change England presented a Return to Mexico City, featuring a first time screening in London of Return to Mexico City and Tommie Smith in a live Q&A session. Return to Mexico City is an award winning documentary narrated by Kieffer Sutherland about the lives of Olympic athletes Dr Tommie Smith and John Wesley Carlos, who shot to fame during the 1968 Olympics when they protested what has been dubbed a ‘Black Power’ protest salute upon collection of their medals for the 200 meter dash finals.


A collaboration of BHA, Naz Project London, Positive East and Positively UK is hosting a 'by invitation only' roundtable on policy activism for small and medium sized health charities on 23 November 2011 at BHA in Manchester. The roundtable will explore how small and medium sized charities can most effectively use and target their limited policy activism capacity, e.g., who is the most effective group to work with and/or to target? The discussion will draw on the experience of participants working with vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.
The second annual survey of Local Compacts is now open. Compact Voice are encouraging voluntary and community organisations to take 10 minutes to fill in the survey – and are offering everyone who completes the survey the chance to win an Amazon Kindle.

The Norwich and Norfolk Racial Equality Council has folded after 18 years, after making a net loss of £42,000 in the
last financial year and becoming “unsustainable”.
The Runnymede Trust have called this closure "a disaster for the people of Norfolk".
